At Cineplex, 100 Scene+ points take $1 off, so a movie costs 100 points for every dollar of the ticket price before tax. A $15 ticket takes 1,500 points. There’s no fixed points price per movie, and you can’t use points to pay the tax. Here’s how it works for tickets, snacks and premium screens.
How many points for a movie ticket
Multiply the ticket price before tax by 100. Ticket prices vary by theatre, showtime and format, so check the price when you book. Here’s the math for some example prices:
| If the ticket costs (before tax) | Scene+ points needed |
|---|---|
| $10.00 | 1,000 |
| $12.50 | 1,250 |
| $15.00 | 1,500 |
| $20.00 | 2,000 |
| $25.00 | 2,500 |
For example, two $15 tickets plus $15 of snacks come to $45 before tax, or 4,500 points. You pay the tax separately.
What 1,000 or 10,000 points are worth
| Scene+ points | Worth at Cineplex |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | $10 |
| 2,500 | $25 |
| 5,000 | $50 |
| 10,000 | $100 |
At 1¢ a point, a $10 movie redemption takes exactly 1,000 points. The same value applies to food and drinks.
