The one common exception is a statement credit on your Scotiabank card, where 150 points = $1, about 0.67¢ a point. Here’s what your points are worth, with a calculator.

How to use Scene+ points for travel

You have two ways to use points for travel, both at 100 points per $1:

  • Apply points to travel you already bought. Pay for flights, hotels, resorts, car rentals or transit with a Scotiabank card linked to your Scene+ account, then redeem points against that purchase within one year. You can book anywhere, so you can shop for the best price.
  • Book through Scene+ Travel, powered by Expedia. You can also earn 3 points per $1 on hotels, car rentals and things to do booked there.

Travel redemptions are final. Each purchase can only be redeemed once, and if you don’t have enough points to cover it, your whole balance is applied.

Example: you charge a $640 flight to your Scotiabank card and have 30,000 points. Applying them takes $300 off, so you pay $340. The same 30,000 points as a statement credit would be worth $200.

How to use Scene+ points on groceries

Redeem 1,000 points for $10 off at checkout at participating Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland, Co-op, FreshCo, Chalo! FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, IGA, Rachelle Béry and Les Marchés Traditions stores, or online through Voilà. Some exclusions apply.

One thing to know: scanning your Scene+ card at the grocery store doesn’t earn points on every dollar. You earn there through marked items, flyer coupons and personalized offers you load in the store’s app. To earn on every dollar, pay with a Scene+ Scotiabank card.
