Best Canadian Credit Cards (bestcanadiancreditcards.com) is a family-run website that explains and compares Canadian credit cards. This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
- Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and comment you enter, plus your IP address and browser details to help with spam detection. Your email address is never shown publicly.
- Profile pictures (Gravatar). If you comment, a scrambled version of your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture. Gravatar’s privacy policy applies to that service.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and email address only to reply to you.
- Server logs. Our web host records standard technical data, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running.
Cookies
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. If you leave a comment, your browser may store a cookie with your name and email so you don’t have to re-enter them; it lasts up to one year. Our caching software may set a technical cookie that helps pages load quickly.
Fonts and other third-party services
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser downloads them, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. Google’s privacy policy applies to that data.
If we add analytics, an email newsletter or other services in the future, we will update this page before they go live.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and apply for a card, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. When you click an affiliate link, the card issuer or affiliate network may set its own cookies to record the referral, and their privacy policies apply on their sites. Commissions never change which card we recommend.

Where your information is stored
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Information collected through the site may be stored or processed on servers outside Canada, where local laws may allow authorities to access it.
How long we keep it
Comments and their details are kept until the comment is deleted. Emails are kept only as long as needed to reply. Server logs are kept for a limited time by our host.
Your rights and choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw consent, for example by asking us to remove a comment. Email hello@bestcanadiancreditcards.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change, and revise the date at the top.
