What changes on November 18, 2026
Rogers Bank has published change notices for all four cards. Here’s what changes:
| Until November 17 | From November 18 | |
|---|---|---|
| Rogers, Fido, Shaw and Comwave bills | Earn your card’s normal rate | 5% on every card, even without a Rogers service |
| Redeeming cash back | Worth 1.5x when applied to Rogers purchases | Always 1 point = 1¢ |
| Linking your Rogers account | 35-day wait to switch accounts | No wait, but you link it yourself |
| Red World Elite travel medical (age 64 and under) | 10 days per trip | 15 days per trip |
| Red World Elite trip cancellation and interruption | Included | Removed |
| Roam Like Home days (from January 12, 2027) | 5 days a year (10 on Legend) | Yearly credit: $25 Red, $50 World, $75 World Elite, $200 Legend |
The 5% applies to bill payments and online purchases from Rogers, Fido, Shaw and Comwave, plus direct Sportsnet+, Citytv+ and Discovery+ subscriptions, TSC and the Jays Shop at Rogers Centre. It doesn’t apply to in-store purchases at Rogers, Fido or Shaw stores, or to Blue Jays tickets. On the Red, Red World and Red World Elite, Rogers purchases count toward the yearly cap.
The end of the 1.5x bonus applies to all cash back, including what you earned before November 18. If you have cash back saved and Rogers purchases to apply it to, redeeming before November 18 gets you the bonus.
How cash back works
- 1 point = 1¢. You earn points and redeem them as cash back.
- $10 minimum to redeem, in online banking or the Rogers Bank app.
- Redeem against recent purchases: cash back is applied to transactions posted in the last 90 days.
- Caps reset yearly. Once you pass your card’s cap, the rate drops to 1% (Red and Red World) or 1.5% (Red World Elite).

Try the cash back calculator →Is the Red World Legend worth $495?
The Legend is Rogers Bank’s premium card, launched in March 2026. On top of 2% cash back with no cap (1.5% without a Rogers service), it adds:
- No foreign transaction fee, so U.S. and other foreign purchases avoid the 2.5% the other Rogers cards charge.
- $200 entertainment credit each year toward Rogers, Shaw or Comwave TV, streaming billed to your Rogers account, or direct Sportsnet+, Citytv+ and Discovery+ subscriptions. Unused credit doesn’t carry over.
- Six Plaza Premium lounge passes a year.
- Travel insurance: emergency medical (21 days per trip, age 64 and under), trip cancellation ($2,500 per person), trip interruption, flight and baggage delay, rental car and hotel burglary.
- Purchase protection for 120 days and an extended warranty that triples the manufacturer’s warranty, up to 2 extra years.
It’s worth it if you spend a lot, travel, and would use the credit and lounge passes. If not, the Red World Elite earns the same 2% with a Rogers service (up to $61,000 a year) for no fee. Use the calculator above to compare.

| Annual fee | $0 | $495 |
| Extra cards | $0 | $95 each |

| Cash advances and balance transfers | From 22.99% | From 22.99% |
| Foreign transaction fee | 2.5% | None |
Rogers lists interest rates as a range (21.99% to 25.99% on purchases) depending on your credit assessment. If you carry a balance, interest wipes out the cash back quickly. See which balance to pay to avoid it.
